Tipton County is located in north central Indiana approximately forty miles north of Indianapolis, the State Capitol.  Interstate 465 is within thirty minutes of the Tipton area.  State Highways located in Tipton County include US 31, and State Roads 19, 28 and 213.  Norfolk Southern Corporation services the county.  The entire midwest region of the United States is accessible through this system.  Commercial airline services are available at Indianapolis International Airport and a general aviation airport is located twenty miles north in Kokomo.

U.S. 31 is a critical component in Indiana's transportation system. The Indiana Dept. of Transportation and the U.S. 31 Coalition, Inc. are working to make U.S. 31 a limited-access, interstate-quality highway from Hamilton County to St. Joseph County.
